Rosetti with Butterfly

As we near the end of the month long challenge - Let's Fly - over on The Lost Coast Portal to CreativityI have a card here using one of my very favorite Lost Coast stamps - Rosetti With Butterfly.  I love the Arts and Crafts movement and the art that it inspired, so this stamp is very special for me.

My image is stamped with brown ink onto a piece of vintage kraft paper that I have torn and inked the edges of.  I layered this with a black panel and layered that with a piece of vintage text from an old book.  Final step was to layer that with another black panel.

I started to add some color to this with some markers, but I really like the old look of this the way it is and decided not to do anything that would distract from the wonderful design of the stamp itself.

Be sure to get your projects posted over on the Portal by the end of March for a chance to win some free stamps!

Let's Fly: Flying Mona

Welcome back for another project featuring the"Let's Fly" Challenge going on all month over on The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.

This one uses the Mona Flying stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Keep Calm and Sparkle clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

The base for this is a portion of a gel print I had on hand using pink and blue acrylic paints and a flower stencil.  I then layered this with a white panel.  My flying Mona is stamped with black ink onto white paper and fussy cut out.  I then restamped Mona's "dress" onto some patterned paper, cut it out, and placed it atop the original stamped image.  I colored her with some Copic Sketch Markers and glued her to the center of my card front as shown.

The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a white square outlined in black and affixed above Mona as seen below.

Looking forward to your "Flying" projects all during the month of March.  Who knows?  You might be the lucky winner of some free stamps!!

Let's Fly: Butterfly Square

Hello again with another project for the month long "Let's Fly" challenge going on over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  We hope you have been busy making your "flying" creations and sharing them on the Portal.

For this card, I used the Ledger Background stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Butterfly Square stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  Be sure to check out the large collection of square stamps at Carmen's Veranda - there are some really unusual and beautiful ones!

The background for this was created by piecing together one inch squares of a decorative background paper to create a mosaic collage.  I stamped this with black ink using the Ledger background stamp and edged it with black ink.  Using my sewing machine, I stitched around the perimeter with black thread.

The butterfly square was stamped onto a piece of a gel print I had on hand.   To stamp over paint, I used black Stayz On ink so it would dry completely.  I edged the square with black ink and positioned it as shown on the card front using foam tape.

Let's Fly: Golden Peacock

Welcome again with another project for our "Let's Fly" challenge going on all during the month of March over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  This card was made using the Teri's Peacock stamp from Lost Coast Designs.

The background for this is a piece of decorative tissue paper in shades of aqua, darker green, and gold.  Using a glue stick I glued it atop a scrap piece of a gelli print I had on hand that was in a really dark green color.  I edged the tissue paper with a gold marker once it was glued down and layered that with metallic gold paper and white paper.

The peacock was dry embossed with gold embossing powder onto a turquoise gelli print and fussy cut out.  I added more color with turquoise, dark blue, and purple Copic Sketch Markers.  I added a small golden crown to the top of his head to give him a really regal look.  Coloring in the feathers was a lot of fun too!
I then attached him atop the tissue paper background.

We look forward to seeing your projects for this current Challenge.  You might just be the lucky winner of some free stamps from Carmen's Veranda or Lost Coast Designs!

Let's Fly: Butterfly Lady

Happy February 1st to all of you and welcome to the latest month long challenge over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity:  Let's Fly.

So many ways you can interpret this theme, so let your imagination run wild and share some "flying" creations with us during the month of March.

This card features the Head In Hands stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  The background is a section of a master board I created using vintage French papers.  I thought the vintage look of the collage went well with the stamp.  I layered the collage with a tan panel as well.

The image was stamped onto white paper with black ink and cut out using deckle edged scissors.  I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and used Copic Sketch Markers to color the image.  The butterfly was colored solid blue and I used a gold gel pen to add some detail to the wings.
The stamped image was layered with a tan panel then affixed to the center of the card front.

We are excited to see what fun things you create so be sure to post your makes over on the Portal for a chance to win some free stamps!
