Cold and Frosty Lost Coast Designs December Challenge

Please check out the December Challenge on the Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity - "Cold and Frosty".  You still have time to enter your wintery projects for a chance to win some free stamps!

This card was made with the Small Snowflake Stamp Set and with the Creepy Dolls by Carri Teddy 2
stamp.  I used as my background a piece of blue and white scrapbook paper and edged it with silver ink.  I then heat embossed the snowflakes with silver embossing power onto white paper and cut them out.  I added a bit of silver Stickles and some smaller silver snowflakes to give them more sparkle.  I stamped my Creepy Teddi with black ink onto white card stock, cut him out, and colored him with Copic markers.

Snowflakes are attached with foam tape as shown, then my Creepy Teddi was positioned atop the snowflakes.  I found a cute winter saying and attached that to the lower left corner.  Last step was to mount this to a white card base and that's how easy it is!

So let's see what fun winter creations you can make!!
Happy Holidays!

GeckoGalz Deck the Halls: Day 17

This project is one I made for the "Decking the Halls" event
happening at the GeckoGalz design blog.  We are creating projects of all kinds during the month of December, so be sure to check them out!

This project is a card which serves as a holder for a gift card.  It seems more and more of our gift giving is taking this form, so this is a fun way to "gift" someone with a card from their favorite retailer.

For this card I used the Gecko Galz mini paper pack called Christmas Sprinkles - I used this both inside and on the outside.

I started with a piece of red card stock which I cut to 4" by 11".  I scored this at 4", 5.5" and 7".  I folded each score line as follows:  valley fold on the 4" score, mountain fold on the 5.5" fold, and valley fold on the 7" score.  I taped the two undersides of the mountain fold together then folded to form a 4 X 4 "present bottom".  I then cut another piece of red card stock 3" by 4.25 " and scored it in the middle at the 1.5" mark.  I glued this to the top of the card so when it is closed the top flap comes down over the top front of the card.  I cut the top portion of the Christmas Sprinkles paper to fit the front of the card, then cut pieces of the lower, dotted portion, to fit along the top flap both inside and outside and to fit across the pocket that holds the gift card.  I cut some white card stock to fit the inside and stamped a sentiment on the upper half and attached my reindeer riding Santa to the bottom half.  I punched holes on both sides at the top of the gift card pocket and attached some small red brads there to hold the pocket securely closed.  Last step was to punch a hole in the outside upper flap and thread some red and white baker's twine through the hole and around the card, securing it closed.  I finished by tying a little peppermint to the baker's twine.

Thanks for checking out my blog, and Happy Holidays!!

Cold and Frosty Snowman

This is a card I made for the "Cold and Frosty" Challenge at the Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity.  This challenge goes for the entire month of December, so you still have time to submit your Cold and Frosty designs for a chance to win some free stamps!

This card was made using the Snowman stamp from Carmen's Veranda.  I stamped my snowman onto white card stock with black ink then cut him out.  I then re-stamped the scarf and button portions of the stamp onto white card stock using blue ink, cut those out, and fastened them to my snowman.  I added a top hat,
cut him a larger carrot nose from a scrap of orange paper, and gave him "eyes of coal" using black rhinestones.   The background was created by using blue acrylic paint on my Gelli press then spattering it with white paint to give the effect of snow falling.  I had a little "Let It Snow" sticker on hand so made a little sign of it and positioned it in the lower left corner.  Last step was to layer this with a white card base.

Geckogalz Deck The Halls: Day 4

This project is for the Geckogalz "Deck the Halls" December project.  I have used the Winter Wonderland  and the Christmas Sayings Digital stamp sets to create six gift tags.

I printed my digital stamps out onto red, green, and white sheets of card stock then cut them down to size so they were uniform in length and width.  I embellished each image with either white pen or Nuvo drops.  I punched a hole in the upper left corner and tied some black and white checked ribbon onto each.
