I Am Woman Challenge

This card was made for the "I Am Woman" Challenge going on now at the Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity.

I used the Lost Coast Designs "Early Stitch and Bitch" stamp.  You can find it here:  www.lost-coast-designs.com/women.html

I stamped my design with black ink onto white card stock and cut it out.  I added some color to the ladies faced and hands and the little wicker sewing basket.  My background is a piece of scrapbook paper that I thought looked a lot like old wallpaper.  I mounted the ladies on the background paper as shown and added some decorative black trim to the bottom.  I stamped the saying in black ink on cream card stock, cut it out and edged it with black ink.  This clear stamp can be found at The answer may not lie...  I attached an old clock and the saying above my ladies the mounted the entirety to a torn edged piece of heavy watercolor paper.  A fun card for any occasion - or just because!

Courtly Love

I created these cards for the GeckoGalz "Courtly Love" Customer Challenge
for the month of January, 2017.  All collage elements can be found at GeckoGalz Blog

The first sample uses one of the Very Vintage Junk Journal paper pack papers as a background.  The envelope comes from the Postage collage set.  The courting couple are from the Vintage Flirtations collage set, and the flower is from the French Botanicals.  Finally the saying is from the Charming Words set.

I cut my background to fit my card front and layered my various collage elements as shown.  I also added a gold border around my courtly couple and attached a gold fan to the top.  Final step was to tie some vintage lace around the left side then attach it all to my card base.

My second sample uses another image from the Vintage Flirtations collage set.  The flowers were cut out from the Jardin collage sheet, the saying is from the Charming Words set, and my background paper is from the Courtly Love Paper Pack.

I cut my background to fit my card front.  Using an oval die, I cut my courtly couple then layered it with a larger oval cut from gold card stock.  I attached those to my background paper, which I had edged with gold ink.  I cut out several flowers from the Jardin set and attached those to the upper and lower opposing corners using foam tape to give them some dimension.  My saying was cut out and attached to the lower right corner using foam tape, and finally I attached a piece of vintage lace along the top edge.  Then all gets attached to the card base.

I Am Woman

This month on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity, there are two challenges.  The first half of the month the challenge is "Doodling", and the second half of the month, the challenge is "I Am Woman".

For this post, I have chosen the second challenge as LCD has so many great stamps featuring women and I love so many of them.

For this card I made, I created a background using my Gelli plate, red and purple acrylic paints, and a flourish stencil.  I then edged it with red ink and stamped stars and a smaller flourish randomly with red and purple inks.  I stamped Birthday Mona onto white card stock with black ink.  I colored her with Copic Sketch markers as shown.  For the cake, I added some Glossy Accents to the candle flames and the white icing on the cake to make them have a little shine.  I attached Mona to the center of my card, then stamped my sentiment Do I Smell Cake? with black ink onto a white square.  I also edged that with red ink and positioned it directly below Mona.  To complete the card I gave the top of her party hat a red flower and attached my card from to a white card base.

A fun birthday card and a new interpretation of the Mona Lisa!  Be sure to go to the Portal and check out the monthly challenges!
