Lost Coast Designs Mayan Blog Hop: Day 1

Oh there are some really great new Mayan figure stamps on the Lost Coast Design website!  They come in a set and are very detailed and interesting.  We are featuring them today for our Mayan Blog Hop, and I have made a card using two of them.

I started by stamping one of the Mayan Hieroglyphics figures onto white yardstick with black ink.  I then colored the figure and his very ornate robe and "hair do" with Copic markers in shades of rust, turquoise, and dark brown.  I then fussy cut him out.  I stamped the Mayan Stele with black ink onto some orange paper and cut it out.  I didn't cut straight around the edges with my paper cutter but used a pair of small scissors and cut around all the different shaped stones that make the outer border.

I mounted the background onto some turquoise paper which was layered with white card stock and affixed my figure to the center using foam tape to raise him up a bit.

I promise you will have a lot of fun with these stamps - they are such fun to color and decorate and make a striking finished project.
