Waltzing Cowboys

There is another this fun challenge going on right now at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity through the end of the month:  Man Cave.  What fun images does this bring to mind for  you?  We hope you will share you creations on the Portal before month end.

This card was made using the Waltzing Cowboys stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Hokey Pokey Clinic clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

My background for this came from my box of Gelli prints, and this one was made on a piece of vintage paper with brown and cream paints and some stencils.  I cut this into a square shape and layered it with a piece of dark brown card stock.  My cowboys were stamped with black ink onto white card stock and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  After fussy cutting them out, I glued them to my card front as shown.

Next my sentiment was stamped with black ink onto a scrap of coffee dyed paper that was then edged with black ink and attached to the lower right corner as shown.  Final step was to punch two holes in the left side and tie some twine and a piece of decorative metal into a bow.

Come join us for this one.  Just be sure to feature rubber stamping on your projects and you just might be the lucky winner of some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!

Steampunk Fly Girl

I have another project for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity "Let's Fly" Challenge, going on for a couple more days on the Portal.  For this card, I used the Steampunk Fly Girl stamp from Lost Coast Designs.  I love all things steampunk, and this is one of my favorite steampunk stamps from Lost Coast Designs.

This started with a piece of vintage book page that I layered over a piece of white paper with Modge Podge.  I added a second layer of Modge Podge atop my vintage text and  smoothed a piece of decorative decoupage or rice paper onto it.  I smoothed it all down and let it dry.  I cut it into a squarish shape with some deckle edged scissors, allowing the vintage book page to show on 3 sides.  I edged those sides with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My Steampunk Fly Girl was stamped onto a piece of coffee stained paper with black ink and fussy cut out.  I then affixed her atop my card front with some foam dimensional tape.  I typed the word "Fly into my computer, enlarged it, and punched it out in a circle shape.  I edged that with the same Distress ink and glued it to the lower right corner.  I then glued a vintage optometrist's lens atop the circle.

We are so excited to see your "Flying" projects before this challenge ends on the 14th.  Be sure to include some rubber stamping in your projects for a chance to win some free stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!  Enter your projects on the Portal before January 15th!

Let's Fly Challenge

The new year starts off on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativitywith a "Let's Fly" challenge.  Lots of ways to interpret this one - birds, angels, butterflies, etc.  I've done a tag for this one using the Whimsical Flora stamp and the Doodle Circles background stamp, both from Lost Coast Designs, and the Sing clear stamp from Carmen's Veranda.

I cut out two tags, one larger that the other so I could layer them. The bottom layer is yellow scrapbook paper and the top layer is pinkish scrapbook paper.  I edged both with Distress Oxide ink in Fired Brick.  Next I stamped both with the Doodle Circles background stamp in the same ink.  I added some little dots with a black marker for a bit of extra interest.  My bird was stamped onto yellow paper with Oxide ink and fussy cut out.  I glued her to the lower portion of the tag as shown and added some googly eyes because everything is more fun with googly eyes!

The sentiment was stamped with the same Oxide ink onto yellow paper, cut out, edged with ink, and positioned above the bird with foam tape.  Final touch was some yellow and pale pink ribbon through the hole in the top of the tag.

We can't wait to see your "Flying" creations over on the Portal, and don't forget to include some rubber stamping!
